The clinical evaluation of different degree of alveolar ridge absorption of complete denture after the use of DA

Abstract：Objective:To observe the clinicaleffects (stable retention,masticatory efficiency,subjective evaluation)of the patients wearing complete denture with different absorption degree of alveolar ridge before and after the application of DA .Methods:According to the absorption of alveolar ridge degree,25 patients with complete denture were divided into 3 groups, then masticatory efficiency and GOHAI (Geriatric Oral Health Assessment Index) before and after using the DA were tested. Results: After using DA , all group patients' retention and stability were improved significantly (P<0.01);group 1 masticatory efficiency have no significantim provement(P>0.05),group 2 and group 3 masticatory efficiency have significant difference (P<0.01). After using DA , GOHAI of three groups of patients were significantly higher (P<0.01). Conclusion: DA can im prove the clinical effect of complete denture wearers with different degree of alveolar ridge absorption,and the im provement of each group was different.
