Abstract:Sudden sensorineural hearing loss is a high-incidence emergency in otolaryngology. Its pathological mechanism has not been fully elucidated.Clinical observations have found that this disorder is often accompanied by abnormal function of the vestibular system. In recent years, research on vestibular function in patients with sudden sensorineural hearing loss has gradually increased. However, the association between the location and degree of vestibular dysfunction and hearing prognosis has not been fully clarified, and the traditional symptom-dependent assessment model is prone to missed diagnoses.By reviewing mechanisms of vestibular injury, clinical values of functional examination and evidence-based assessment of rehabilitation interventions, this paper aims to provide a theoretical basis for multi-dimensional diagnosis and treatment of sudden sensorineural hearing loss, and to promote standardized application of vestibular function assessment in prognosis prediction.
