Abstract:The GATA2 and GATA3 genes play critical roles in inner ear development.Mutations in these genes result in a series of severe clinical symptoms, including deafness.Deafness is highly prevalent in diseases associated with GATA2 and GATA3 mutations, making it a primary focus in defect prevention and control in such conditions. This review discusses the significant roles of GATA2 and GATA3 in inner ear development, the pathogenesis and clinical characteristics of deafness related to their mutations, and targeted prevention and treatment strategies.
