Preliminary Report on Construction of A Vestibular Function Examination Information System

Abstract：Objective To develop a vestibular function information system(VFIS)for clinical application.Methods Within the framework of the hospital information system(HIS),software was developed to construct a vestibular function information platform for interconnected all vestibular function examination equipment in the hospital with the HIS.Results The VFIS allowed smooth operation and networking of more than 10 vestibular function inspection devices of various brands with the HIS,with benefits in the forms of digitization of questionnaires and test results,batch statistical analyses,automatic patient sorting and calling,HIS wide access to electronic reports and 7 standardized reports templates,as well as monitoring of equipment operating efficiency and workload.Conclusion The VFIS can effectively improve the efficiency of practice and research,with permanent data storage.It is a safe and reliable digital system for vestibular information handling.
