Abstract:Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is the most common peripheral vestibular disease.Although otolith reduction is effective, relapse is not uncommon, which not only seriously reduces patients'quality of life, but also increases economic burden for the patient and society.A comprehensive understanding of risk factors and correspondingly preventive measures are the key to reduce recurrence in BPPV.Based on the latest research progress, this paper reviews factors related to recurrence in BPPV from the aspects of impaired otolith function and its evaluation, idiopathic factors and secondary factors, aiming to provide information on targeted intervention measures to reduce recurrence and improve prognosis and long-term quality of life for patients.
