Abstract:Chronic suppurative otitis media(CSOM)is a chronic suppurative inflammation of the middle ear mucosa and ossicles, often with erosion of the bone, caused by pathogenic bacterial infections. It is clinically characterized by recurrent pus drainage, tympanic membrane perforation and hearing loss.In severe cases,it can lead to serious intracranial and extracranial complications. The theory of middle ear ventilation and drainage obstruction is based on the concept of middle ear pathophysiology at the level of middle ear anatomy, physiology, pathology, pathophysiology and temporal bone imaging, which has important significance and practical value in guiding clinical diagnosis and treatment.
