Abstract:Objective To study the relationship between cardiovascular risk factors,as well as cumulative risks, and hearing loss(HL).Methods This cross-sectional study involved 8,081 adults aged 20 and older from the 2023 China National Health Survey. The association between cardiovascular risk factors and both speech-frequency and high-frequency HL was assessed, along with the impact of the number of cardiovascular risk factors and the Framingham Risk Score(FRS)on HL by logistic regression models, with stratification by gender and age to evaluate their effects. Results In fully adjusted models, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, overweight and smoking were all positively associated with HL,particularly high-frequency HL.Dyslipidemia, overweight and smoking showed gender-specific associations with HL.Regardless of age and gender, the number of cardiovascular risk factors and FRS were positively correlated with HL,with a stronger effect in individuals under 60 years. Conclusion Cardiovascular risk factors were significantly associated with HL,particularly in high-frequency HL and among individuals under 60 years of age.As cardiovascular risk factors accumulate, the risk of HL increases accordingly.
