Abstract:Aging is currently a major public health topic, and the accompanying age-related hearing loss and age-related vestibular dysfunction greatly increase the social medical and health burden.Age-related hearing loss(ARHL),presbyvestibular disease(PVP),and animal modeling have always been the hot research topics to alleviate the health burden of aging and improve the quality of life for the elderly.Selection of appropriate animal models is a prerequisite to ensure study validity. This article will focus on animal models of natural aging and rapid aging, analyzing and comparing them from the perspectives of age-related genetics, cochlea and cochlear functions, pathological and physiological cytology to shed light on the mechanisms of aging and its effects on hearing and balance. The aim is to provide a theoretical basis for future research on age-related vestibular diseases, especially regarding appropriate animal models.
