Abstract：Presbycusis is a hearing disorder caused by degenerative changes of the auditory organ,which can have a serious impact on the health of the elderly.Its pathogenesis is mainly related to oxidative stress,inflammation,hormone levels,genetic factors and environmental risks.Current approaches to improving hearing are limited to hearing aids,and drug therapy,gene therapy and stem cell therapy are still in the stage of basic research,although some of them may become new treatment options in the future.This article summarizes the pathogenesis and therapeutic advances in age-related deafness.
