Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment of Fibrous Dysplasia of Temporal Bone

Abstract：Fibrous dysplasia of the temporal bone(FDTB)is a rare benign bone disease characterized by replacement of normal bone tissue by abnormally proliferating fibrous tissue,which in turn causes a variety of clinical symptoms such as facial deformity,local pain and hearing loss.The complexity of temporal bone anatomy and the low prevalence of this condition present unique challenges in its diagnosis and treatment.This article summarizes the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of FDTB,including its epidemiology,pathogenesis,clinical manifestations,imaging features,differential diagnosis and treatment strategies.The aim is to raise awareness of this disease among clinicians and help improve early diagnosis and treatment.
