Research Advances in Threshold Equalizing Noise Test

Abstract：Threshold equalizing noise test is a simple,fast and effective clinical method to identify dead regions in the cochlea.Therefore,the application of this technique is of great significance to better understanding function of the inner hair cells and auditory nerve,diagnosing sensorineural deafness,clinical interventions and hearing aids fitting.While threshold equalizing noise test helps the diagnosis of cochlear dead zones,shortcomings exist,including dependence on patient cooperation and sensitivity to a variety of factors,such as the test environment,noise sources,etc.Numerous studies on threshold equalizing noise test have been published in foreign countries,and there is a lack of research on its application in China.This paper aims to introduce this new detection method,hoping to help clinical research and guide hearing rehabilitation to reduce hearing loss related life and communication difficulty burdens in the hearing impaired.
