Abstract:Objective To reveal the impact of concomitant symptoms of sudden deafness on its prognosis. Methods Studies on prognostic factors in sudden deafness publicly published both domestically and internationally from 2010 to 2022 were retrieved using keywords from databases including CNKI,Wanfang and PubMed for a meta-analysis.Results A total of 2656 articles were retrieved and 63 were ultimately included. In sudden deafness, the total rate of treatment effectiveness in unilateral disease was significantly higher than in bilateral disease(P<0.01).The rates of treatment response and complete recovery in patients without dizziness were significantly higher than in those with dizziness(P<0.01).The rate of recovery in patients with ear fullness was higher than in patients without ear fullness(P<0.05).The rates of treatment response and complete recovery were also higher in patients with tinnitus than in those without(P<0.05).Conclusion Among patients with sudden deafness, those with unilateral disease, tinnitus, ear fullness and no dizziness tend to have a better prognosis.
