Cortical Auditory Evoked Potentials:From Basic Research to the Clinic

Abstract:The cortical auditory evoked potential(CAEP)is a method to assess central auditory processing by recording the neural response of the auditory pathway to acoustic stimulation.This paper provides an overview of the current status of basic research and clinical application of CAEPs,as well as existing problems and possible directions of future development,with a view to providing inspiration for audiologists,otologists and neurophysiologists to advance CAEP research and applications.
