Abstract:Secretory otitis media(SOM)is one of the most common factors affecting the quality of life in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)after radiotherapy. At present, secretory otitis media after radiotherapy shows poor response to treatment and there lack standardized diagnoses and treatment guidelines, likely related to its complex pathogenesis and the lack of effective targeted treatment methods. The authors reviewed the relevant literature on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, treatment and other aspects of secretory otitis media after radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma in order to provide a theoretical basis to improve its diagnosis and treatment.
