Abstract:Objective At present, there lacks systematic study on the influencing factors on residual dizziness in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV)after reduction therapies. This study aims to identify such factors and introduce a nomogram prediction model. Methods Data from 150 patients with BPPV admitted to the vertigo center in our hospital from January 2020 to December 2020 were selected and divided into a training set(n=112)and a validation Set(n=38).The training set was further divided into a residual dizziness group and a non-residual dizziness group on the basis of presence of residual dizziness after reduction.Multivariate Logistic regression was used for factors influencing post-reduction residual dizziness. Results Compared with the non-residual dizziness group, patients in the residual dizziness group were older, with longer disease duration(>6 months),higher number of reduction sessions(≥3 times)and higher recurrence rate(P<0.05),which were identified as independent risk factors for post-reduction residual dizziness. The nomogram prediction model based on these independent influencing factors demonstrated high differential accuracy and clinical applicability. Conclusions Age,duration of disease, number of reduction sessions and post-reduction recurrence are closely related to residual dizziness after reduction in BPPV.
