Abstract:Erythropoietin-producing hepatocellular receptors and their receptor-interacting proteins(Eph/ephrin),a receptor tyrosine kinase signaling pathway, are involved in multiple cellular pathophysiological and physiological mechanisms such as inflammation, cancer progression, tumor angiogenesis, intestinal environmental stability, immune response, tumor immunity, neural development, and inhibition of nerve regeneration after injury.Eph/ephrin signaling plays a core role in the development of auditory nerves, the formation of auditory system circuits and topological struc-tures,the development of chronic sinusitis, and the invasion, metastasis and treatment response in head and neck tumors. It may become a diagnostic indicator,a prognostic indicator, and an important therapeutic target in otolaryngological dis-eases.This study mainly reviews the roles of the Eph/ephrin signaling pathway in otolaryngological diseases.
