Abstract：The miniature pig is an ideal large animal model widely used in biomedical research nowadays for its similarities with humans in anatomy and physiology.To ensure high quality experiments and conform to principles of an-imal welfare,and minimize wastage of animals,the article summarizes on relevant issues in methods,effects,and moni-toring of vital signs during anesthesia in miniature pigs,aiming to facilitate establishing efficient animal models for bio-medical research.
