Abstract:There will be a series of aging phenomena in the human body with age.Clinically,age-related hearing loss(ARHL)is a progressive and symmetrical bilateral neuro-sensory hearing loss in the elderly. The pathogenesis of ARHL is complex.Genetic susceptibility is one of the important factors of ARHL.Epigenetics, including DNA methyla-tion,non-coding RNA regulation and histone modification,is closely related to the occurrence and progression of AR-HL.This paper reviews the recent advances in epigenetics research on ARHL,in order to promote prevention and treat-ment of ARHL.
