Clinical Research Advances on Revision Stapes Surgery for Otosclerosis

Abstract：After the initial stapes surgery,about 10％～20％of patients with stapes otosclerosis may need to under-go revision stapes surgery,sometimes multiple times,and outcomes in these revision stapes surgeries are often less satis-factory than after the initial operation,with risks for surgical complications increasing as the number of revision surgery increases.Based on relevant literatures in recent years,this article reviews the surgical indications,preoperative evalua-tion,management of intraoperative findings and postoperative hearing outcomes in revision stapes surgery.
