Abstract：Objective To describe a new technique for treatment of petrous apex cholesteatoma by a case report and review of related literatures.Methods With literature review,the treatment planning and prognosis of a case of pe-trous apex cholesteatoma were retrospectively analyzed.Results The lesion was successfully removed via an otoendos-copy-assisted supralabyrinthine approach,while inner ear function was preserved and craniotomy avoided.Conclusion Treatment of petrous apex cholesteatoma via the otoendoscopy-assisted supralabyrinthine approach is an effective tech-nique,which avoids disruption to normal structures,reduces risks of unnecessary complications and improves patient's quality of life.At the same time,it provides a new choice for treatment of other types of apical lesions.
