Tinnitus Retraining Therapy

Abstract:Tinnitus can seriously affect people's physical and mental health, not only by the annoying sound in the ear, but also by tinnitus-related psychological problems such as insomnia, anxiety and depression , which can bring great distress to the patients. The precise mechanisms underlying tinnitus are currently unknown, and its treatment is al-so under research continuously. Tinnitus retraining therapy is one of the many treatments developed in recent years, and is highly recognized around the world. In this review, we will describe the methodology, neuromechanisms and evolu-tion of the Tinnitus Retraining Therapy.
