Catheterization and Continuous Suction for Auricular Pseudocyst

Abstract：Objective To report outcomes of treatment of auricular pseudocyst using catheterization and continu-ous suction. Methods A total of 131 patients with pseudocyst of auricle were randomly selected to receive local punc-ture and pressure dressing (the control group, n=66) or catheterization and continuous suction (the treatment group, n=65), treatment effects were compared after one course of treatment. Results The rate of complete resolution was 86.4%(57/65) in the treatment group and 29.2%(19/66) in the control group (P<0.01). Conclusions Our results indicate that catheterization and continuous suction is effective for pseudocyst of auricle, and an easy and safe treatment.
