Application of video health education in patients undergoing ear reconstruction

Abstract:Objective Discussing outcomes of video health education in ear reconstruction patients aged between 5 and 31 years. Methods Eighty patients were divided into a study group (receiving video health educations) and a control group (no video education). Results Compared with those in the control group, patients in the study group acted signifi-cantly better in terms of compliance, self-defense, diet knowledge and confidence (p<0.05). The rate of final satisfaction in the study group was 95%, compared to 80%in the control group (p<0.05). Conclusions Using videos in health educations can enhance patient confidence and quality of education for patient with microtia, while augmenting patient understanding of nursing care.
