Use of Steri-Strips for chest wound closure in auricular reconstruction cases

Abstract：Objective To compare Steri-Strips and traditional stitching in chest wound closure in ear re-construction surgeries. Methods Chest wounds were closed using either disposable Steri-Strips (the study group) or traditional suturing (the control group) and the outcomes were compared. Results Compared with the control group, the study group showed significantly reduced scars, and the differences were statistically significant. Conclusion The data from this study show that the use of disposable Steri-Strips on chest wounds in ear reconstruction surgeries, with adequate nursing and home care after , can significantly reduce chest scar formation.
