Abstract:Objective To understand key issues in hearing comprehension in CI children by comparing hearing comprehensive ability of double condition words and analyzing differences in processing parallel, verb object, subject-predicate, modifier and preposition words between CI children and normal children, and to study the development of CI children’s comprehensive ability of the five class of words over three months of training. Methods All participants were tested for understanding of double condition words in the“Chil-dren's Auditory Understanding Capability Assessment Table”in a one to one fashion Results Within three months, understanding of parallel and partial words was superior in normal children over CI children. After three months of training, understanding of verb object words was better in normal children than in CI chil-dren. For IC children, understanding of partial words was worse before the three months mark than after. Con-clusion Understanding parallel and partial positive words in normal children is superior over CI children. There is limited improvement in hearing comprehensive ability for the five classes of words in CI children af-ter three months of training.
