Abstract:Waardenburg syndrome (WS), also known as the hearing-pigment syndrome, is a relatively common syndrome of hereditary deafness. There are four types of WS, and sensorineural hearing loss is one of the most important clinical symptoms of the disease. In recent years, genomics of WS has been thorough stud-ied. The only definite and effective treatment for WS at this time is cochlear implantation. This paper aims to provide an overview of Waardenburg syndrome and an analysis of a pediatric case of WS.
