The Effect of Brandt-Daroff Exercises on Horizontal Semicircular Canal Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo

Abstract：Objective To explore the treatment of Brandt-Daroff exercises on horizontal semicircular canal benign par?oxysmal positional vertigo(HC—BPPV). Methods The clinical data of 23 cases of HC—BPPV,include 2 cases of subjective horizontal canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and 21 cases of objective horizontal canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo , with Brandt-Daroff exercises from March 2007 to December 2013 were analyzed retrospectively. Results After do?ing the exercises for 1 week,12 cases were cured,syptom of 9 cases were reIieved significantly,2 cases were invalid.After 2 weeks,17 cases were cured,syptom of 5 cases were reIieved significantly,and 1 case was invalid. Conclusion Brandt-Daroff exercises was a good method for the horizontal semicircular canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo cases.
