Abstract:The"Body-Viscera Combined Impediment"theory in rheumatic immune diseases posits that the body and viscera are interconnected through the five elements, meridians,Qi,blood, body fluids, and the spirit-marrow system, forming the characteristics of"body impediment affecting the viscera, visceral impediment affecting the body, and combined body-viscera impediment".The body, located externally, serves as the outward manifestation and extension of the viscera.By regulating the body, the physiological functions of the viscera can be restored. This paper argues that somatic-mental comorbidity is a specific clinical manifestation of"Body-Viscera Combined Impediment".Traditional exercise therapies regulate the limbs and skeleton through physical movements and improve the state of the viscera through breathing techniques, representing a practical approach to"nourishing the viscera through the body".Based on the"Body-Viscera Combined Impediment"theory, this paper explains the mechanisms and traditional Chinese medicine pathogenesis of somatic-mental comorbidity in rheumatic immune diseases and explores the specific applications of traditional exercise therapies in regulating conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, chronic fatigue, and cognitive impairment in rheumatic immune diseases. This provides new insights for the clinical prevention and treatment of somatic-mental comorbidity in rheumatic immune diseases.
