Abstract:The"five body constituents"theory of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)divides the human body structure into five hierarchical systems:skin, blood vessel, flesh, tendon and bone.Among them, bone is the trunk, which belongs to the kidney. It has important functions such as supporting the body, controlling the movement and protecting the internal organs.Modern lifestyle and environmental factors lead to a high incidence of bone diseases.Needling technique,as an important representative of external treatment in TCM,show unique clinical value in the treatment of bone diseases. This article systematically reviews the functional synergy between"bone"and the five viscera,Qi,blood and body fluid, then makes a biological interpretation of the theory of"kidney governing bone"and"bone generating marrow"based on modern medical research, revealing the new connotation of bone as an endocrine organ and regulator of immune microenvironment.Meanwhile,by analyzing the application of acupuncture in bone diseases treatment, aiming to promote the combination of the"bone"theory in five body constituents of TCM and modern needle technology, and provide theoretical support and innovative path for the complementary advantages of Chinese and Western medicine.
