Professor Cao Hongxin's Experience in Diagnosing and Treating Lithiasis Based on the Qi Transformation of Sanjiao

Abstract：The incidence of lithiasis has been increasing annually,with a tendency toward multiple occurrences and recurrence.Preventing the formation and progression of lithiasis remains an urgent medical challenge.Professor Cao Hongxin employs traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)to diagnose and treat lithiasis by integrating the four diagnostic methods of TCM with modern technology.By assessing patients'health and life information to grasp disease dynamics and focusing on the pivotal mechanism of Qi transformation in Sanjiao,he tailors treatments precisely according to the disease location,nature,and progression.Through syndrome differentiation based on individual manifestations,pathological products such as water-dampness,dampness-heat,blood stasis,and turbid toxins are effectively resolved.The entire diagnostic and therapeutic process is guided by holistic thinking,leveraging the concept of Sanjiao Qi transformation to achieve three key effects:preventing stone formation,preventing recurrence,dissolving stones,and promoting stone expulsion.With a combined approach of prevention and treatment,significant clinical efficacy has been observed.This article analyzes typical clinical cases from Professor Cao Hongxin's practice to highlight the advantages of TCM and provide new insights for the diagnosis and treatment of lithiasis.
