Abstract：Objective To develop a set of scientific and standardized metadata standards for ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),aiming to address issues such as information fragmentation,inconsistent digital construction standards,and uneven data quality,so as to facilitate the effective realization of their academic and clinical application value.Methods Using literature research,comparative analysis,and expert consultation,this study analyzed the current state of TCM ancient book metadata and relevant domestic and international standards.Based on relevant international standards and the characteristics of TCM ancient books,the research was conducted following the principles of accuracy,completeness,compatibility,extensibility,and specificity.Results A design framework for TCM ancient book metadata standards,centered on the TCM knowledge system,was proposed.Conclusion The establishment of metadata standards for TCM ancient books can support standardized and normalized management of these resources,promote resource integration and sharing,improve management and utilization efficiency,and provide a scientific basis for the description of TCM ancient book resources.
