Thoughts on the Methodology of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Modern Research Methodologies

Abstract：Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has a unique theoretical system and methodology.However,due to its archaic and abstruse nature,it fails to align with modern scientific methodologies,which poses dual challenges to its scientific credibility and subjectivity.Objectively,this situation necessitates the reconstruction and innovation of the TCM theoretical system,aiming to establish a theoretical framework that conforms to modern cognitive paradigms.System science is a modern scientific system that most closely resembles the theoretical thinking and cognition of TCM and holds the greatest potential for integration and innovation.By employing systems theory as a modern methodological tool and fully incorporating the methodologies of multi-disciplinary research,a TCM theoretical research methodology system can be constructed and developed.This system mainly consists of philosophical research methods,historical philological methods,theoretical research methods,and information technology and artificial intelligence methods.Adhering to the fundamental principles of"cultural inheritance,integration with modern science,and return to clinical practice"in TCM theoretical research,strengthening interdisciplinary research and talent cultivation,and initiating a new round of theoretical development from practical applications,TCM theory is bound to regain its vigor in modern society.
