Abstract:Objective To innovate the methodology for constructing an ontology of classical TCM knowledge, establish an ontology for dampness syndrome based on Treatise on Febrile Diseases, present the theoretical system of dampness syndrome in the treatise, and explore new approaches for in-depth utilization of classical TCM knowledge. Methods The seven-step method and grounded theory were integrated to code terminology from clauses related to dampness syndrome in Treatise on Febrile Diseases.By constructing core codes and relationships among major categories,a thematic knowledge framework for dampness syndrome was developed.Semantic relationships were innovatively applied to uncover implicit knowledge, leading to the construction of ontology maps and theoretical system diagrams. Results A total of 167 clauses were extracted, resulting in 597 domain concepts,14 classes, and 21 semantic relationships. Two knowledge graphs were generated. Conclusion The combined use of grounded theory and the seven-step method is suitable for constructing ontologies of classical TCM knowledge.
