Abstract:The pre-Qin and Han dynasties are the early stage of the formation of TCM theory. The Inner Canon of Huangdi established a theoretical framework of exogenous etiology based on"six evils",but its occurrence process and internal logic has not been revealed. The bamboo and silk of the Warring States,Qin and Han dynasties unearthed in recent years provide new materials for this purpose. The exogenous etiology theory is a comprehensive product of philosophical construction, clinical practice and climate observation. The construction of wind evil as"the guide of various diseases"is mainly based on the metaphysical Qi Theory. The pathogenic factors of wind, cold, damp and heat and their treatment are presented in bamboo slips and silk, which become the basis for the theoretical construction of"wind opening and discharging","cold inducing shrinkage and stagnation"and"dampness turbidity".From the Yin Shu on the Han bamboo slips of Zhang Jiashan to the Inner Canon of Huangdi, the six evils had developed from weather change to climate law, systematizing the exogenous etiology theory.Guided by philosophy and clinic, this"unity of Dao and technique"epitomizes TCM's theoretical genesis.
