Abstract:The theory of"swelling due to injury"(Xing Shang Zhong)originates from the Inner Canon of Huangdi.Later medical scholars have gradually deepened their understanding of this concept.By the Ming and Qing dynasties, some physicians pointed out that"Xing"(form)refers to"blood",so"swelling due to injury"can be interpreted as"swelling caused by blood injury".Gout is a disease primarily characterized by joint swelling and pain.In clinical practice, treatment often focuses on joint pain while overlooking joint swelling. This article is based on the theory of"swelling due to injury",taking"blood injury"as the starting point, and combining the staging of gout to analyze the"swelling"in gout, exploring the pathogenesis at different stages, and providing a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
