Abstract:The main pathogenesis of perimenopausal insomnia is kidney deficiency, with the disease mainly located in the heart and dominated by the brain.Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the brain, heart, and kidney are closely related, forming a functional axis through the interconnection of matter, function, and meridians, forming the"brain-heart-kidney"axis theory. The tranquility of the mind is a key factor in maintaining normal sleep, restlessness of the mind is the fundamental cause of sleep disorders, restlessness of the mind is the key to the onset of perimenopausal insomnia, and lack of mental nourishment is the root cause of perimenopausal insomnia.Tiangui exhaustion is the basis for the onset of perimenopause. In the seventh seven-year of a woman's life, the deficiency of kidney essence and Qi reaches a certain level.Tiangui exhaustion cuts off the reproductive axis, disrupting the balance between the brain-heart-kidney axis, causing deficiency of kidney essence, loss of brain and spirit, and anxiety, leading to a series of symptoms such as insomnia. The article explores the pathogenesis of perimenopausal insomnia based on its etiology and pathological characteristics, and selects acupoints such as Shenshu(BL23),Xinshu(BL15),and Shenting(GV24)from classical literature, providing ideas for clinical diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
