Abstract:Objective To conduct a bibliometric analysis of the research progress, hotspots, and future trends in the field of diabetes mellitus(DM)complicated with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods Leveraging data from the Web of Science Core Collection database,a bibliometric analysis of the literature on DM complicated with CHD from 2013 to 2023 was performed. The analysis employed CiteSpace and VOSviewer for visualization and analysis, focusing on publication trends,most-cited authors, countries, journals, networks of keywords co-occurrence and co-cited references. Results A total of 1812 publications were included in the analysis, with a consistent annual increase in publication volume.Darren K.McGuire from the University of Texas stood out as the most prolific author, while China emerged as the country contributing the highest number of publications, with the University of Toronto leading in organizational productivity. The journal with the highest number of publications and citations was Cardiovascular Diabetology. The analysis of keywords revealed mortality, risk, and myocardial infarction were research hotspots.Keyword and co-cited references analysis emphasized the crucial role of GLP-1 receptor agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors in reducing cardiovascular events in DM,as well as the advantages of coronary-artery bypass grafting in diabetics with multivessel coronary artery disease.Combining traditional treatments with internet-based comprehensive interventions may be a key research trend in the prevention and management of DM complicated with CHD in the future. Conclusion DM complicated with CHD is receiving increasing global attention. The research hotspots and trends in this field include the mortality and risk factors of DM complicated with CHD,coronary artery bypass grafting,GLP-1 receptor agonists,SGLT2 inhibitors, and the combination of traditional treatments with internet-based comprehensive interventions.
