Bibliometrics and Visualization Analysis of Blockchain Applications in Medicine

Abstract：Objective To investigate the current research landscape,key areas of interest,and emerging trends in the application of blockchain technology in the field of medicine.Methods Employing China National Knowledge Infrastructure and CiteSpace software,we visually examined the quantity of articles,authors,institutions,and keywords related to blockchain applications in medicine.Results A total of 882 articles were considered,and the yearly publication rate exhibited a noteworthy growth.Wen Chuanbiao emerged as the most prolific author,while Huazhong University of Science and Technology led in institutional contributions.The collaboration network featured Wen Chuanbiao,Shi Mingyi,and Xiao Li at its core,with research institutions predominantly associated with science and technology,as well as traditional Chinese medicine colleges and universities.Research on the application of blockchain in medicine primarily concentrated on electronic medical records,traceability systems,and medical security.Noteworthy hotspots included vaccine traceability management,hospital administration,medical systems,and cross-chain sharing.Conclusion China's exploration of blockchain in the medical field initiated relatively late and remains in the developmental stage.Strengthening effective collaboration among institutions,conducting more in-depth research,expanding the scope of blockchain applications in medicine,leveraging the advantages of blockchain technology,facilitating the generation of cutting-edge results,and expediting the digital transformation of the medical sector are deemed essential.
