Abstract：The theory of"unsmmoth blood circulation results in water retention"was originally put forward by Zhang Zhongjing in the treatment of women's menstrual blood diseases.Modern Chinese medicine has expanded its scope of Chest Bi application and provided a theoretical basis for blood diseases causing water Qi diseases.Blood disadvantage runs throughout the entire process of atherosclerosis(AS),the early aggregation of inflammatory factors,lipoproteins and other cytokines in the blood vessels can cause slow blood flow.Plaque and thrombus gradually form in the later stage of AS,which further affects blood flow.If AS develops into chronic heart failure,critical signs such as systemic edema can be seen clinically.AS can be diagnosed as Chest Bi in TCM according to its main clinical symptoms.Traditional Chinese medicine treatment can promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis,clinical often see water syndrome,such as phlegm blocking heart pulse,water flooding the skin,should be blood and water treatment,remove blood stasis at the same time do not forget to remove phlegm,warm Yang,water,Qi.This article will start from the theory of"unsmmoth blood circulation rsults in water retention",combined with modern medical understanding,to elaborate the etiology,pathogenesis and syndrome differentiation of AS,in order to provide a new therapeutic idea for clinical.
