Abstract:Objective To explore the distribution characteristics of TCM syndrome elements in patients with chronic persistent asthma and their relationship with clinical characteristics, which provides objective basis for diagnosis, treatment, and scientific research. Methods 150 patients with chronic persistent asthma in the Longhua Hospital,Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January,2020 to November,2021 were selected as the research objects.Their TCM syndrome elements and clinical data were collected. The distribution of TCM syndrome elements was analyzed,as well as the correlation between TCM syndrome elements and ACT score,FeNO,FEV1,FEV1%,FEV1/FVC,NEUT%,EOS%,and MONO%.Results The main location syndrome elements of chronic persistent asthma is lung, which exists in 123 cases(82.00%),followed by exterior(24.67%),heart(17.33%),kidney(15.33%),and spleen(8.00%).The highest frequency in syndrome elements is Qi deficiency, which exists in 68 cases(45.33%),followed by Yang deficiency(44.00%),phlegm(38.67%),and blood deficiency(24.00%).There is a positive correlation between the exterior and FeNO(R=0.165,P=0.015),while the spleen and kidney are negatively correlated with lung function such as FEV1,FEV1%,and FEV1/FVC(P<0.05).For syndrome elements, there is a negative correlation between phlegm and ACT score(R=-0.186,P=0.01).Qi deficiency,Yang deficiency, blood deficiency and Yin deficiency are negatively correlated with the EOS%(P<0.05).Qi deficiency, blood deficiency and Yin deficiency are also negatively correlated with FEV1(P<0.05).Conclusion Chronic persistent asthma is closely related to the lung, spleen, and kidney. The main TCM syndrome elements are Qi deficiency,Yang deficiency, phlegm, etc. And there is a correlation between the main syndrome elements and clinical characteristics.
