Abstract：The pursuit of high-quality and innovative development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in the future is a long and arduous journey.It necessitates a clear understanding of developmental goals guided by problem awareness,based on historical evolution patterns,bridging the ideological,theoretical,clinical,and innovative gaps between the past and the future.By identifying weak links,we must address these shortcomings to enhance quality and strengthen unique features to promote development.The systematic construction of TCM should center around the core task of high quality innovative development,emphasizing the fundamental issue of image thinking,leveraging philosophical advantages to empower disciplinary development,and cultivating a vibrant TCM.We should delve into the classic literature that has been passed down for thousands of years,using inherited and innovative theories to propel cutting-edge academic research and establish a TCM that is grounded in fundamentals and clarifies principles.By addressing fundamental issues related to clinical proficiency,we can harness the advantage of " I as the master,others as followers" to unify new developments and paradigms,fostering a TCM with survival advantages.Drawing on and leveraging the research methods from advantageous fields,we should fortify the advantages of scientific development with humanistic attributes,overseeing the high quality development of TCM,and cultivating a TCM that is both progressive and rooted in tradition while embracing innovation.
