Abstract:Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR)is a kind of transcription factor that is involved in sugar and lipid metabolism, inflammatory response and cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. In recent years,an increasing number of studies have been conducted on the related pathways of the three subtypes of PPAR,and it has been found that PPAR played an important role in the transformation process of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. From monomer and compound Chinese medicine to patent Chinese medicine and external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),all of which showed that TCM intervention had a good clinical effect on the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).The number of fundamental experiment studies to elucidate the mechanism of TCM in the prevention and treatment of NAFLD based on PPAR pathways is increasing. This article will review the experimental studies on the mechanism of TCM prevention and treatment of NAFLD in recent years from the perspective of PPAR pathways.
