Theoretical Discussion on Treatment of Senile Dementia by Supplementing Qi, Inducing Resuscitation and Clearing Away Heart Fire

Abstract：Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is asthenia in origin and stagnation in superficiality,which presents various symptoms including deficiency,sthenia,cold and heat in different pathological stages.Key factors of AD about occurrence and development are deficiency,phlegm andfire.Elderly people's qi gradually degradation,which would produce phlegm and stagnated fire.We put forward the corresponding treatment for different pathological stages that are tonifying qi,inducing resuscitation and clearing away the heart-fire and we can modify according to symptoms in all kinds of pathological stages.Yuanzhi Powder from Sheng Ji Zong lu consist of Yuanzhi,Fuling,Renshen,Shichangpu and Huanglian,captured the key pathogenesis and became effective prescription to treat AD.This paper makes related theoretical exploration on both TCM etiology and pathogenesis of AD and applys Yuanzhi Powder which has the efficiency of tonifying qi,inducing resuscitation and clearing away the heart-fire to treat AD.
