Origin and Differentiation of Hemorrhoids Concept in Ancient and Modern Times

Abstract：Haemorrhoids is a common,frequentlyoccuring disease,but opining on connotation of haemorrhoids in TCM documents varies.There is a big difference between acient and modern concept of haemorrhoids of TCM,the name of haemorrhoids of TCM increased in the cource of transition between acient and modern concept of haemorrhoids of TCM.The original meaning of concept of haemorrhoids of TCM implies anal abcess or anal fistula,which belongs to crissum suppurative infection disease.The phenomenon that name of haemorrhoids of TCM increased belongs to the category of increase of word meaning,reflects that concept of haemorrhoids of TCM implied generic term of analrectal diseases.Modern concept of haemorrhoids which based on theory of varicose vein or the theory of sliding anal lining belongs to local blood circulation disorder disease.It is helpful to correctly evaluate the value of TCM works to research the original meaning of concept of haemorrhoids of TCM.
