Thermal channel: cell and molecular biology significance of "treating cold with heat, treating heat with cold"

Abstract："Cold remedies heat,and hot remedies coldness" is one of the main treating methods in the Traditional Chinese Medicine.Pungent,containing in most of herbs can activate the Thermo-TRPs in order to remove either excessive heat or coldness as well as to relieve pains.These herbs' desensitization to the channels may be the principle of this treating method in a cellular and molecular biological point of view.
