Abstract：The concept on the theory of relation was first suggested in this article,which thought that TCM has inherited the methods of knowledge of ancient science,and laid Stress on the syntheses so that people could cognize interrelation among the thing;but western medicine has inherited the methods of knowledge of modern science,and attached importance to the analysis in order that people could cognize the substance of thing;therefore essential differences between the theory of TCM and Western medicine were formed. The doctrine of yin yang-five elements,viscera-state,pathogenic factor,principle of treatment and method of treatment were all established on the basis of theory of relation.
