Research on the Overall Efficiency and Reliability Optimization of High-Voltage GaN-Based LED Chips in Road Lighting Fixtures
LI Mingyang
Abstract:For road lighting,we propose an efficiency-decomposition and Tj–efficacy–lifetime derating model for High-voltage GaN-based LEDs,co-optimizing chip terminal design/current spreading,low-thermal-resistance packaging and heat paths,low-ripple electrolytic-free drivers,and multistage surge protection.A/B comparisons and accelerated tests followed IEC and LM-80/TM-21.Under a unified protocol,system luminous efficacy improves by 8%~12%(P50)over baseline;PstLM≤1.0 and SVM≤0.4 across 10%~100%dimming;surge withstand reaches 10 kA(line-to-ground)and 5 kA(line-to-line)with self-recovery;L70/B50 projections increase by 20%~30%;thermal derating is controlled;LCC/TCO decreases by 8%~15% and payback shortens by 10%~20%.
