Abstract:This study aims to quantify the influence of the museum's lighting environment(color temperature, illuminance)and the tones of paintings on the subjective and objective experiences of visitors, and to optimize the design of the exhibition's lighting environment. In a simulated museum environment,by combining subjective scales with objective physiological stress detection(changes in salivary α-salivary amylase activity),the effects under different illuminance(150 lx,300 lx),color temperature(2700 K,4000 K,5000 K),and color tone combinations of paintings were systematically analyzed.Main results:1)The comprehensive evaluation shows that 4000 K*300 lx is the optimal lighting environment. The high color temperature significantly enhances the perception and thinking ability of visitors and effectively reduces physiological stress.2)Warm-toned paintings offer the best visual experience and cause the least eye fatigue, while cool-toned paintings are prone to cause eye fatigue. At the same time, the interaction between color temperature and tone is significant.Cold/warm-toned paintings perform best at 5000 K.3)Illuminance has a greater impact on the attention of visitors than color temperature. Therefore,it is recommended that the basic lighting be 4000 K*300 lx,and the best color temperature be matched according to the color tone of the exhibits to promote a good experience and cognitive efficiency for visitors, and achieve an optimized choice for the exhibition effect of the museum.
