Roles of LED Supplemental Light for Regulating Pitaya Flowering:A Review

Abstract：Pitaya is a high value-added perennial tropical fruit tree,and its fruit is highly rich in nutrition and health substances.Nowadays,pitaya is widely planted in many tropical and subtropical countries with good economic benefits.Pitaya planting area in China ranks first in the world,mainly including tropical and subtropical areas of open field cultivation and temperate zone facility cultivation.Pitaya is a long-day and light-loving plant which can be produced year-round,but it is a serious problem that the weak light and the insufficient irradiation duration in winter and spring leading to poor flowering rate and fruit setting rate.The induction of a large number of high quality stepped flowering by LED artificial light is the core industrial technical requirement for achieving multiple crop results and high quality and high yield of Pitaya fruit.In this paper,we summarized the pitaya flowering enhancement effects of LED supplemental light intensity,quality,time and duration,which provided the basis for establishing the accurate and efficient LED light technology for pitaya production.
