Abstract:This study focuses on the protective effects of smartphone screen protectors on photic health across different age groups.By analyzing spectral distributions under varying color temperatures,we quantify the impacts of anti-blue-light films on blue light hazards and circadian rhythm disruptions. Results show that the anti-blue-light film(Film 4)significantly reduces blue light hazards(mean reduction of 30%–33%in the blue light hazard factor KB)and circadian disruptions(15%–20%reduction in the circadian rhythm factor KC),with enhanced efficacy under high color temperatures(>5000 K).While natural aging reduces blue light transmittance by 75%from infancy to old age,the film further slows the age-related decline in these factors.By selectively filtering blue light in the 400–500 nm range, the film provides effective retinal protection, particularly for high-risk groups such as young users and those exposed to high color temperatures. This study offers critical insights for optimizing blue light-filtering products and promoting personalized screen usage strategies. It also underscores the importance of health education in advocating protective measures, recommending the combined use of low color temperature settings and anti-blue-light films to maximize photic health benefits.
